I'm 22, born in NC, and grew up in Charleston, SC. I had some rough times growing up while being blind, and having my mother pass away at only 6, but having to overcome those barriers, has helped me to become the person that I am today. After high school, I started attending Charleston Southern University, during which time I received my first guide dog, Janine, (whose birthday ironically is the same day as the day my mom died, September 24th), from The Seeing Eye in Morristown, NJ, and met my wonderful husband, Jeff. Jeff and I have been married since October 12, 2001, and have a son, Kyle, born on April 23, 2003, and are expecting a daughter, Natalie, on May 9th. Currently, I spend all of time being the best wife and mother that I can be to my family. But in my spare time, I compose/play music, am an active member in the Peninsula Council of the Blind and in MOMS Club of Bremerton/Silverdale, support Jeff as he embarks on new adventures in the Navy, build websites, and work on my newest hobby-candlemaking.
